Wounds and Injuries

Q: Does 'Concussion' stack with 'Overkill'?

A: Yes. So if both are active, the subsequent injury rolls will be:

1-3: Stunned
4-6: Out of action

Close Combat Weapons

Q: If I have Initiative 3 and a Sword and a Club, do I make all of my close combat attacks at I4, or the Sword-attack at I4 and the Club-attack at I3?

A: Club at I3, Sword at I4. - The +1 I is a property of the Sword, just as Concussion is a property of the Club.

Q: If I fire two pistols in close combat and I have more attacks left (e.g. due to multiple attacks on profile), will these attacks go to waste?

A: No. You may freely switch away from Pistols after having fired them in Close Combat, even during the same round that you fired them.
(However, attacks may go to waste if you declared all of the warrior’s attacks against an enemy that was taken out of action by the Pistols.)

Q: Do I need the ‘Pistolier’ skill to fire two pistols in Close Combat?

A: No. You are using the Pistols as Close Combat Weapons and you need no skill to use two weapons in Close Combat.

Q: If I have A2 on profile, two Pistols and two Swords, what attack options will I have in the first round of combat?

A: These options (choose one):

- Two attacks with Sword (Single-wielded).

- One attack with Pistol (Single-wielded).

- Three attacks with Swords (Dual-wielded).

- Two attacks with Sword(s), one attack with Pistol (Dual-wielded).

- One attack with Sword, two attacks with Pistols (Dual-wielded).

Q: Does fighting with a Sword and a Shield incur the -1 WS penalty for Fighting with two weapons.

A: No. Shields are an Armour choice. (That counts as a Close Combat Weapon choice.) - (If playing with advanced rules, Shields also add to Encumbrance.)

Q: Is a Mace, Hammer or Staff the same as a Club?

A: Yes. Just like in the 1999-rulebook.

Q: There are no Morning Stars in Coreheim. Is Morning start the same as a Flail, then?

A: Yes. Morning Star was inferior to Flail anyway, and it was confusing with two very similar weapons.

Q: Why can't a warrior with Pistol(s) have a Shield.

A: Oh, he can have a Shield. He just can't use it. The reason is that Shields and Pistols together would be too good as you can switch away from Pistols in the same turn that you fired them, giving you both Pistol attacks in Close Combat and and Armour Save when its time for the opponent to strike back.

Missile Weapons

Q: If I apply poison to throwing knives will all shots be affected, or just a single shot?

A: All shots. Throwing Knifes are one missile weapon.

Q: Do Slings work with Quick Shot, the Snap Shot skill and so on?

A: Yes. Slings are Short Bows in ALL respects. (We might release an add-on package for Unique Sling rules at a later time. Fluff-wise it would be great, but rules-wise there is no acute need as Slings = Short Bows is greatly balanced.)

Q: Pistols don't have reload, can they shoot every turn?

A: Oh yes, Pistols are very good now (and have the price tag to match). The reload rule required a lot of bookeeping which is why it we removed it.

Q: If I have a poisoned Bow and a skill that allows me to fire twice in one turn, will both shots be affected with poison?

A: No, only one shot per turn. See the last paragraph of the 'Quick Shot' skill.

Q: If Throwing Knives do not count as a missile weapon choice, can a warrior with Throwing Knives still benefit from the ‘Strike First’ rule of Spears and Halberds that only triggers if the warrior is not armed with a missile weapon?

A: No. Throwing Knives do not count as a missile weapon choice. They are still a missile weapon, and listed as such.

Q: My hero with the Alchemist skill fires a Handgun at a T3 enemy. What properties will the shot have?

A:
Work out the shot like this:

Strengh 6 (base S5 + 1 from Alchemist)
Armour Piercing 2 = -2 to enemy armour save
S6 vs. S3 activates the Overkill rule, meaning that:
Target is auto-wounded with +1 to Injury Rolls
Concussion with +1 to Injury Rolls means target will at least be Stunned.
The Injury Roll will then look like this: (1-3 = Stunned 4-6 = Out of Action)

Q: Can goblins learn to use Long Bows and other large missile weapons through the 'Arms Training' skill?

A: Yes. If you need a fluff justification, imagine the Goblin having snotling helper(s) to draw the Low Bow, stabilize the Long Rifle, etc. (Hat tip to Pathfinder Dubstyles.)

Skills

Q: The Arms Expert Skill figures under both Shooting and Academic.

- Is this intentional?

- Does the restriction of 'one one warrior in the warband may have this skill at a time' apply to this skill no matter what skill list (shooting/academic) the skill is obtained from?

A: - This is intentional. (Balance reasons: This makes non-shooting warbands able to do just a little shooting.)

- Yes. Only ONE Arms Expert per warband, no matter what skill list it was obtained from.
